Protecting our Trees

You are being invited to participate in a research project into tree protection within Wycombe District, Buckinghamshire. This study is being done by Sally Clark, Arboricultural Officer for Wycombe District Council as a final year MSc research project to be submitted to the University of Central Lancashire. The purpose of this research study is to examine the main drivers behind requests made to the local authority for tree protection, whether the current criteria for statutory tree protection reflect the concerns of society and whether the current system has become outdated. The aim of this research is to better understand the concerns and experiences of individuals who have made requests for tree protection or who have expressed concern about trees within their communities or the wider landscape.

Participants will be asked to complete a short questionnaire with the opportunity to expand on issues of particular importance to them. The information provided by you in this questionnaire will be anonymised and used for research purposes. It will not be used in a manner which would allow identification of your individual responses. A copy of the completed study can be made available upon request.

If you are interested in taking part in this study it can be accessed online here: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/6KYNQR6

The online survey will take you approximately 20 minutes to complete and the deadline for completion is 28.02.2018. Alternatively if you would prefer to be sent a hardcopy of the questionnaire please contact Sally at: trees@wycombe.gov.uk
