Bledlow

Bledlow
The village of Bledlow lies in the Vale of Aylesbury.  The village is dominated by its church and the 18th century manor house now owned by Lord Carrington.

Southwest of the village is Bledlow Cross, a 75 foot chalk cross cut into the turf which is though to be of Saxon origin, marking the route of the ancient Icknield Way.
Near to the village is the Lyde, a deep cleft in the hillside where water gushes out from an underground spring.

Pubs

The Lions of Bledlow
This is an attractive pub serving a good range of food and beers which, during the summer months, can be sampled on the village green outside the front door.   The pub is rightly popular with walkers and ramblers.

Bledlow Ridge

The village of Bledlow Ridge straddles the West Wycombe to Chinnor road and its elevated position on the prominent Chiltern ridge led to a large post-mill being placed here around 1820, having been moved from Radnage Common. The four sails featured a canvas covering and it must have been an impressive site when in full working order. Unfortunately it was allowed to decay during the early 20th century and was eventually demolished.
