What is the WI all about?

The official explanation…
“We play a unique role in providing women with educational opportunities and the chance to build new skills, to take part in a wide variety of activities and to campaign on issues that matter to them and their communities.”

What does this mean to our members in Radnage? …..
We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 7.15 for 7.30pm.
(We are not all Jam and Jerusalem!)

We enjoy the social side of meeting other ladies and their families within our village; in fact many of our meetings involve food and wine!

We have a speaker at most of our meetings on diverse subjects – so far this year we learnt how to mend china, had an expert explain how to grow our own vegetables, heard all about the history of Wycombe Museum and listened to a presentation on sight loss.  Next year’s programme is equally diverse and we look forward to an interesting selection, details of which we will publish in the news pages on this website.

As part of the National Federation, we have a voice that is heard by our Government and you can find further information on our Resolutions in our news pages.

We enjoy outings together and this year have visited Saville Gardens and Frogmore House and been to see the latest films in our local cinema.  We help other organisations in our village (e.g. we help pick the grapes in our local vineyard, we produce ‘goodies’ for sale in aid of church and village hall fundraising events and we take part in litter picking and rambles).  This year we organised a village fun day to celebrate the wedding of HRH Prince William and Catherine Middleton.
